Remco Evenepoel has quickly become the hero of Belgian cycling. After a podium finish at the 2024 Tour de France, the 24-year-old leaves the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with not one, but two gold medals for his efforts.
Upon his return to Belgium, Evenepoel made the trip to the football team he played for as a youth, R.S.C. Anderlecht as they continued their 2024/25 Belgian Pro League campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to OH Leuven on Saturday. Not just in attendance as a fan however, Evenepoel was paraded around the ground, showing off his Olympic medals and being serenaded with a rapturous reception from all inside the Lotto Park.
