At one of the traditional end-of-season criteriums, Mathieu van der Poel took victory in the Rainbow Jersey at the Madrid Criterium ahead of Juan Ayuso and Omar Fraile.
Racing on Spanish roads for the first time, van der Poel secured a happy end to the year before he returns to cyclocross as he showed off the rainbow jersey in Madrid. Check out in the video below, the exciting finale as the Dutchman holds off the chasing pack!
