The Tour of Flanders grew incredibly tense before the Eikenberg and we have seen two crashes. The first involved Jhonatan Narváez, but quickly after about a dozen riders went down including Mathieu van der Poel himself.
This happened with 126 kilometers and at high speed. Quite a lot of riders went down in a big fall and Mathieu van der Poel was involved alongside several Alpecin-Deceuninck teammates and UAE Team Emirates - XRG riders. The Dutchman didn't seem injured, but took a few seconds to get back up and racing towards the peloton.

This video is weird, the more you look at it the more it seems as if riders vanished. At one point it looks like about 20 riders are going down and the next moment it’s only a dozen or so on the road even though the number of bikes also seems more.
