INEOS Grenadiers has had an incredibly successful day at the
Tour de Wallonie this afternoon, taking a one-two-three victory in the race's key time-trial with Filippo Ganna jumping back to the race lead. However the day was perhaps even more special for
Luke Rowe, who had special motivation on the day.
The Welsh rider is in the Belgian race to support his teammate and was not interested in chasing a result against the clock. Hence the team gave freedom for his son to be in the team car behind Rowe during the time-trial, leading to some interesting footage.
Loved this clip of Rowe's son cheering him on. It is great to see how the children of racers are showing up everywhere around the races, on the podium and attended to by doting dads. Wout Van Aert's going home for the birth of his child was one of the great moves of the 2023 TDF. He is a role model who has made a great play for the future of sports and the important role of being a great dad. What a win for everyone.
