Stage 3 of the
Criterium du Dauphiné was the one day of the race where things seemed to pan out for the pure sprinters, however they were surprised as
Christophe Laporte soared to his second stage win of the week.
The
Jumbo-Visma sprinter benefited from the combination of great legs in the sprint alongside perfect timing. Sam Bennett was the first sprinter to make his bid for the line, and as he moved slightly to the right where Dylan Groenewegen was, Laporte surged through the left side to take a masterful win in the yellow jersey.
