Stages following rest days are always hard to predict. As was the case on stage 10 of the 2023
Giro d'Italia as Magnus Cort took victory from a breakaway that held off the peloton in the closing kilometres, sealing his own personal Grand Tour Grand Slam.
With the early summer Italian weather continuing to stay well clear of the Giro d'Italia, the peloton was once again left cold and wet as the rain fell and the roads became slippery. With a 4-rider breakaway going clear, 3 riders were left in the final kilometres as a much reduced Maglia Rosa group tried its best to chase them down. Thankfully for Cort the break survived and the Dane outsprinted
Derek Gee and
Alessandro De Marchi to seal the victory.
