This was something that was already known, however now video footage has appeared of the shocking crash. A spectator on the side of the road was recording a video as a Team Visma | Lease a Bike rider suffered a mechanical and was forced to change bikes. Not one of the leaders, his bike was positioned on the left side of the car, which forced the mechanic to get into the side of the road where riders and motorbikes could potentially pass.

It was likely as shocking to the mechanic as it was to the riders, there was not even a moment to react. Silvan Dillier collided directly with the mechanic who seemed relatively unharmed, however the Swiss rider crashed and fractured a hand as a result. You can check the video below:
