VIDEO: 24 riders disqualified from under-23 Giro rider after grabbing onto cars and motorbikes at Passo dello Stelvio

Jumbo-Visma's Johannes Staune-Mittet has won yesterday's queen stage of the under-23 Giro d'Italia, however a shocking situation has emerged from the race. Camera footage and commissaires have disqualified a whole 24 riders for grabbing onto vehicles in the summit finish to the Passo dello Stelvio.

The incident took place during stage 4 of the Italian race which is seeing some of the best under-23 riders in the world. The 119-kilometer stage finished atop the high-altitude and brutal Passo dello Stelvio, and it's difficulty led some riders in the back of the race to take the decision to grab onto vehicles. Unfortunately for them, spectator footage revealed the situation.
