Young Kazakh rider
Yevgeniy Fedorov is the new world junior champion. He has been part of Astana Qazaqstan for more than two years. It always a proud moment to race with rainbow jersey on your shoulders, and Fedorov is no different. He will participate in the Tour of Lombardy with the rainbow jersey for the first time.
The new junior champion will make his first appearance since victory in the Tour of Lombardy, which will be held on 2nd October. Attendance of a world champion will help in the advertisement of the tour, according to the president of the organisation. "It is clear that the presence of the world champion is the icing on the cake for our race," Daniele Fumagalli, president of the organization of Il Piccolo Lombardia-told BICITV.
Fedorov is not the only eye-catcher in the tour. Young and promising riders like Sean Kelly, Moreno Argentin and Stefano Garzelli are also going to be present at the start line. Tour of Lombardy has seen some big names like Jan Polanc, Davide Villella, Gianni Moscon, Fausto Masnada, Harm Vanhoucke, Alexandr Riabushenko, Robert Stannard, Andrea Bagioli and Harry Sweeny take part before switching to WorldTour teams.
