During the past week we have had the end of Scheldeprijs, Itzulia Basque Country and Paris-Roubaix, so it's safe to say there were a lot of UCI points distributed - whilst a lot of riders also lost theirs of last year. There have been big changes in the UCI Rankings, however not at the very top where the best continue to perform... At the very top.
You can check the previous update. This is because the podium of the Tour of Flanders was replicated at Paris-Roubaix, with the same three riders for the first time in history finishing on the first three positions of the two cobbled monuments. Mathieu van der Poel took the win, but couldn't overtake Tadej Pogacar who finished second. Mads Pedersen, third on the day, is now also third on the rankings. Now the trio have gained meaningful distance over the rest as the cobbled classics come to an end - but with the Ardennes coming, Pogacar will be growing his own difference. Tim Merlier gained over 200 points at Scheldeprijs.
And at Itzulia Basque Country João Almeida gained over 550 points with the GC and two stage wins, he is now the 7th rider with most points scored this season. Filippo Ganna and Juan Ayuso maintain fourth and fifth whilst Wout van Aert's fourth place in Roubaix rises him to sixth. Jonathan Milan, Tom Pidcock and Matteo Jorgenson maintain their position in the Top10.

As for the year-long ranking, a lot has actually changed. In number 1 though Tadej Pogacar has substantially increased his lead however, unsurprisingly. Remco Evenepoel and Mathieu van der Poel follow, but the Dutchman didn't actually gain points as he had already won the Hell of the North last year. Jasper Philipsen lost the points of last year's place and came down from 5th to 12th, which means a lot of riders managed to climb the ranks.
Biniam Girmay climbed two positions into 7th; Wout van Aert climbed three to enter the Top10 once again; and Itzulia Basque Country second and first Enric Mas and João Almeida climbed to 10th and 11th respectively. Jonas Vingegaard has in the meantime lost his spot in the Top10. Juan Ayuso and Carlos Rodríguez, losing last year's Itzulia points, have fallen out of the Top20. However the Basque race provided for more riders climbing up the ranks, perhaps more noticeably Max Schachmann, entering the Top100 directly into 71st after a strong comeback.
