Tom Paquot and Laurenz Rex signs with Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert - "I have my eyes on success"

Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux has added two young Belgian riders, Tom Paquot and Laurenz Rex, to the team.They will make their WorldTour debut in 2023.

“The past four years, I received the chance to grow as a rider, seizing opportunities to show myself in my favorite races. I feel now ready for the next step in my career, and I am very happy that it is within Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert Matériaux,” said Rex. He plans to join the WorldTour team and eventually race alongside big riders. “I will pursue my development in de World Tour. I have my eyes on success, and therefore, I want to continue evolving on a tactical level next to keep making physical progress,” said Rex.

Tom secured eighth place in the GP Scherens last year. He finished third in the Tour du Doubs competing alongside Biniam Girmay. He also finished in 24th place in Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.

“I am happy with the opportunity to develop myself further in a World Team. It makes me proud to defend the colors of the first Walloon World Team. If the opportunity presents itself, I can use my fast legs as a strong asset to achieve a personal result,” concluded Paquot.
