UAE Team Emirates - XRG once again ruled the peloton last week at Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 as Juan Ayuso left Italy with the Maglia Azzurra, Poseidon's trident and arguably the most prestigious win of his burgeoning career. A key cog in the support train of the Spaniard, came from the ever impressive Isaac del Toro, who continues to make a name for himself as not only a star of the future but also of today.
The 21-year-old Mexican was a consistent feature of the UAE Team Emirates - XRG train alongside Ayuso over the course of the last week, taking two top-10 stage finishes of his own and ending up 19th in the final general classification. All in all another good week's work for the continually standout Del Toro. "Good week for the team under very tough conditions," reflects the former Tour de l'Avenir winner in a post to his official Instagram account, noting the at times brutal weather conditions that met the peloton last week. "This Mexican will never forget those 6 hours in the rain."
"Congratulations Juan Ayuso for the 🔱 Thank you team for everything. Thanks for all the good vibes," adds a clearly grateful Del Toro in his post-race reflections. "Personally I am very happy with my performance, I am very proud of my progress, thanks to everyone for being in my process, thanks Mexico 🇲🇽 for being chingón, thanks family."
For Del Toro, the next race on his programme according to Pro Cycling Stats, is the upcoming Giro d'Italia. There, the Mexican prodigy is once again expected to offer a helping hand to Ayuso in the fight for the Maglia Rosa and if Tirreno-Adriatico is anything to go by, the duo, alongside Adam Yates among others are likely to be amongst the leading contenders for the overall victory.
