For Dutch riders, there are few more special races to win than the Amstel Gold Race. On Sunday afternoon, this dream was realised by
Team SD Worx - Protime's
Mischa Bredewold who secured the biggest win of her career to date at the 2025 edition of the
Amstel Gold Race Ladies.
"This is Amstel! It's such a big race in Holland. It's a fucking dream," beamed an equally delighted and disbelieving Bredewold in her post-race interview afterwards. "I was maybe too scared to attack. I thought I'd gamble and do all or nothing. Danny Stam [Team SD Worx - Protime sports director] behind me in the car was saying 'Now it's all or nothing. Full gas!'"
On the Cauberg, it was Bredewold who proved the strongest, dropping her rivals and holding that lead all the way to the finish line. "On the Cauberg – I hate it, the Cauberg – but I thought, 'Just keep going! Don't look back at the power [numbers], just go," she explains of her winning move. "And over the top, I was alone."
