Kevin Geniets has shown good form this year in the spring classics and he is hoping that 2023 will be his breakthrough year. The Luxembourg rider will be having a key role within Groupama-FDJ, and is hoping the team's depth can see him benefit from it.

"I see that the team's point of view concerning me has also evolved," Geniets told Quotidien.Lu. "Before, the goal was above all to help Stefan Küng, to do the job before the final, to try to anticipate. Now, I feel that the team has confidence in me."

Groupama had a transfer season focused on signing it's young talents from the development team, whilst keeping it's leaders - successfully. This season he's worked alongside Stefan Küng and Valentin Madouas in the cobbles, with both netting very strong results including podium places at both Tour des Flandres and Paris-Roubaix.

Geniets is set to start his season at the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var before riding the opening weekend in Belgium. His path to the classics will include Paris-Nice, and the 25-year old will also race Milano-Sanremo. In the summer he will likely return to the Tour de France where both David Gaudu and Arnaud Démare are expected.
