A rainy edition of the Brussels Cycling Classic gave way to the win of Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux's Taco van der Hoorn. The Dutchman took advantage of the chaotic race to take his first win of the season.
The 28-year old was the strongest out of the day's breakaway, which survived the day in the hills and managed to keep the peloton behind by a matter of seconds. The drag to the line, which can't even be called a sprint, saw van der Hoorn slowly reel in Thimo Willems who had attacked earlier. The Intermarché rider brought in yet another win to the team, and the podium was complete by Tobias Bayer, with the remaining of the breakaway arriving afterwards, and the peloton 23 seconds after led by Alexander Kristoff.
