The new UCI points ranking this Thursday reveals new changes towards the bottom teams in the rankings, as Team BikeExchange - Jayco have scored significant points over the last few days and have pulled themselves out of the last maintenance spot in the classification.
That came due to Simon Yates' win at Prueba Villafranca and also his overall classification triumph at the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon. Although low category races, the Briton has managed to score enough points over the week to see BikeExchange go over Movistar Team into the 17th place - although only by 42 points, according to Raúl Banqueri's new update.
Movistar now sit in 18th place, although with an advantage of 649 points over Lotto Soudal. The abandon of Enric Mas at the Tour de France with Covid-19, alongside the many crashes he's suffered over the year are taking a heavy toll on the team.
No other teams scored meaningful points this week, so the Belgian team and Israel - Premier Tech remain below the red line, separated by 167 points between themselves.
With the Vuelta a Burgos, Clasica San Sebastian and Tour de Pologne in the coming week there will be serious points at hand, and as the weeks grow by the pressure to perform increases within all these teams.
