The
BORA - hansgrohe rider started the season with a third place at the Vuelta a San Juan, but has had an extensive spring calendar without many results to show for. A stage win at Itzulia Basque Country saved his year so far, but has not performed in the Ardennes and abandoned the Tour de Romandie where he last raced.
After some preparation he now returns to the peloton. Originally he was thought to be racing the Vuelta a Espana alone this year, but that will likely not be the case. He will race Suisse where he finished second last year, and use that as build-up for the Tour de France where he will join the likes of Jai Hindley and Sam Bennett.
