Riejanne Markus has extended her contract with Team Jumbo-Visma Women, she will continue to ride for the team in 2023 and 2024. She has been part of the team since 2020.
"We are coached both athletically and mentally. As a result, I have not only grown as a rider in the past year and a half, but also as a person. I also get all the space I need to develop in the discipline I love most: time trial. I hope to qualify for the time trial at the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024," Markus said in a press release. The Dutch rider has just taken a win at the Dutch national championships, and is a big bet within the Dutch team.
"In addition, I would like to become an even better classification rider and I am confident that this environment is the right one for that. I like to ride for a leading lady like Marianne Vos, but it's also nice to be able to ride for yourself once in a while," she added.
"Within Team Jumbo-Visma there are those possibilities," she concluded. She is now preparing for the Tour de France Femmes, which starts on July 24 in Paris.
