Remco Evenepoel wins Tour of Norway queen stage and re-takes race lead

The queen stage of the Tour of Norway saw the riders head up a very hard summit finish that has created crucial differences for the overall classification. Remco Evenepoel emerged victorious in Stavsro, and has taken back the race lead after his stage win, having distances Tobias Johannessen in the final ascent.

The 175-kilometer long stage saw the peloton head up the final climb with 12.1 kilometers at 7.7% average gradient. The attacks soon came from the likes of Esteban Chaves and Jay Vine, however at pace all were closed by the Belgian who always seemed in control. Evenepoel himself launched an attack in the final kilometers, making the difference with apparent ease as he distanced Jay Vine who was the best of the rest, with Luke Plapp finishing third for a strong performance. Former race leader Tobias Johannessen finished fourth and lost the race lead.
