Yesterday's Liège-Bastogne-Liège saw an impressive performance from Remco Evenepoel to take a glorious solo victory after a daring long-range move. The Belgian attacked over the top of La Redoute and managed to keep his lead in the race despite the strong chase from several teams behind, who could only fight for the remaining spots of the podium.
With this win Remco Evenepoel has taken the biggest prize money available for the race which was a €20.500 euro reward that will be split between Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team. As a one-day race the teams that followed were naturally the ones of the riders who have completed the podium, with Quinten Hermans' Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux taking a slice of €10.000, and Wout van Aert's Jumbo-Visma taking the third place to bring in an extra €5.000.
