On the 3rd of October, Germany hosts the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro, one of the country's top races and one of the most highly-rated end-of-the-season classics, guided towards the sprinters and classics riders. We preview the race. The race is expected to start at 13:15CET and finish at 17:15CET.
The German one-day race is certainly one for the sprinters and there isn't really much where this could possibly be altered. The race starts off in the town of Stromberg and will finish in Münster, with a relatively hilly start but a completely flat finale in which the fast men will have an opportunity to take a meaningful victory before ending their season.
The race is going to have the two Belgians as the main favourites. In the absence of Jonathan Milan and his leadout, the other two of the best sprinters in the world are present in Jasper Philipsen and Tim Merlier. None have their most luxurious leadouts present so it will be a difficult to navigate the finale in a sprint that should have about a dozen teams hotly contesting the head of the peloton.
We've got Visma coming in backing up Olav Kooij, Lotto with the in-form Arnaud de Lie and two sprinters with strong leadouts in Alberto Dainese and Soren Waerenskjold who can be a big threat. However other teams may prove to be just as dangerous if they devote some of their secondary sprinters to leading out one man, as is the case with teams such as Israel, Picnic PostNL, XDS Astana Team... However other very strong sprinters such as Jordi Meeus, Casper van Uden and Matteo Moschetti need no introduction and would be able to win even against such strong competition under the right circumstances.

- That may be so but he probably can’t say tgst as it could be considered breach of contract if he was signed up for team/JV duties, in which case we might never know because he won’t want to take the risk of having to pay like WVA. I don’t think anyone knows what was promised but he accepted a pay reduction and could easily have continued at Jayco. - There are a lot of desperate nobodies out there who can’t keep the satisfaction of an encounter in their private circle but hope to be in the spotlight for 15s by association. I guess you’re thinking of this Artem guy but at least he’s kind of known by riders and probably asks? This is only the beginning though, soon there will be tour guides taking groups along the training routes in the hope of encountering someone, a mix of the Hollywood home tours and safaris. I don’t understand the obsession when you can basically meet plenty of ex-pros, even Tour winners etc. in person once they open their retirement shops or organise training rides for enthusiasts.Mistermaumau29-01-2026

- Your logic holds at best during a race and even then, public is supposed to leave riders space and alone, hence authorities who move crowds for riders even at the busiest of climbs. You seem to have an almost perverse sense of intimacy celebrities should allow the public in the name of ENTERTAINMENT. Nothing more to this than vanity and whoring for attention, and when an accident happens, the better for the blogger to get more attention through clicks, and as a result more people commenting (like me) and can subscribe (not me) to the so-called wanna-be instagram 'blogger'.
