On the 21st of March we've got the final of three northern classics that serve to some as preparation for the monuments, whilst to others it gives a taste of top-level explosive racing outside the World Tour level. The Bredene Koksijde Classic always delivers spectacle, and this year should be no exception. We preview the race ahead.
Whilst the previous days of racing appear very similar to races such as Dwars door Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix, this final day of mid-week racing resembles Gent-Wevelgem almost to perfection - only slightly easier, of course.
The riders will go through the same climbs as they do in the Belgian classic, including two ascents of the Kemmelberg (through both directions used at Gent-Wevelgem) and inbetween them three other small climbs. This could see important attacks and be a race defining moment. However from the summit of the finish line to the finish line in Koksijde there are 100 kilometers to tackle, which favour the sprinters, but in this land the strong winds usually cause chaos and you never know what to expect!
Prediction Bredene Koksijde Classic 2025:
*** Dylan Groenewegen
** Alberto Dainese, Arnaud Demare, Milan Fretin
* Max Kanter, Aaron Gate, Fabio Jakobsen, Juan Sebastian Molano, Luke Lamperti, Luca Mozzato, Matteo Moschetti
Pick: Groenewegen
