After recent Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes winner, Grace Brown attempted to launch an attack from the peloton with just over 40km to go, that impetus was quickly put back into the peloton and with 35km to the line, Benito's lead had dropped considerably to just 3:15.
Having attacked solo with 118km to go, Benito's day out front was finally brought to an end with around 7km left. From there, attention for the riders within the peloton could fully turn towards preparing for a bunch sprint finale.
Similarly to stage 2, a crash midway through the bunch slowed some down with around 3km to go. Still fighting at the front though was Liane Lippert and the German opened things up. Charlotte Kool powered around on one side but there was no stopping
