As the Giro d'Italia 2025 unfolds, the favorites to win the
Tour de France 2025,
Jonas Vingegaard and
Tadej Pogacar, are currently training...in the exact same location.
Yes, that's right, both riders are currently taking part in an altitude camp in Sierra Nevada. In a video from a Spanish fan, you can see Pogacar flying up a 6% ramp. Such is his speed that it looks like he is descending, which acts as a reminder to fans just how talented these riders are. Vingegaard was also caught on camera, in this case with a Visma teammate, this one with a more sustained pace on a steeper ramp.
Last year's podium finisher, Remco Evenepoel, was also spotted in Belgium training a few days ago with an almost 70 kilometer training ride. There has been a lot of talk about his relatively quiet Tour de Romandie, but we must remember that he is still building up his fitness after his crash last December.
The other favorite in contention, Primoz Roglic, has a different preparation idea. Like Tadej Pogacar did last year, he is racing the Giro d'Italia, although he has made it clear that his big goal for the year is the Tour. Who will arrive in better shape?
