Peter Sagan confirmed to race Tour de Hongrie - Former World Champion sprints against Mark Cavendish and Dylan Groenewegen in return to World Tour level

From the 8th to 12th of May the ASO-distributed Tour de Hongrie has already attracted a few riders to be at the start line. Today the race revealed a surprise participant in the 2024 edition: Peter Sagan.

The Hungarian race has focused on the fast men, and has confirmed several high-level sprinters as well such as Mark Cavendish and Dylan Groenewegen. Peter Sagan will join the previous two as a contender for the sprint stages as he will be racing for the Pierre Baguette Cycling team.

The event is not a World Tour level competition, but at least eight World Tour outfits will be present in the ProSeries event including UAE Team Emirates, INEOS Grenadiers and BORA - hansgrohe.

This will not however be Sagan's return to road racing. The Slovakian has been competing in a few Mountain Bike events throughout the past few months, but is also scheduled to race in four one-day events in Slovenia now throughout the month of March, as he prepares for the Olympic Games that are set to take place in July.
