The
Tour de Hongrie wants to secure big figures ahead of it's racing schedule from the 8 to 12th of May.
Mark Cavendish has been officially confirmed to be part of the race, which means he is unlikely to start the Giro d'Italia.
The announcement was made today on the race's social media. Cavendish will be a true headliner for the race, which he will use to prepare for the Tour de France. Initially, the Giro d'Italia - where he won last season - looked to be in the works for the Manxman, but his participation in the Hungarian event means this will not happen.
