Urska Zigart will be racing for the women's counterpart of Patrick Lefevere's Soudal - Quick-Step, the AG Insurance - Soudal from 2025. Patrick Lefevere revealed this in his column in Het Nieuwsblad. The reigning Slovenian champion on the road and the time trial, comes over from Liv AlUla Jayco.
"Should I tell you a secret? Pogacar’s fiancée will be riding for our women’s team next year. Pogacar himself will follow later," Lefevere laughed in an interview with Het Nieuwsblad. "To be clear: Urska is coming, Tadej of course isn’t. Apparently they don’t want to ride in the same team," he points out.
The 27-year-old Zigart turned pro in 2020 with Alé BTC Ljubljana, before switching to BikeExchange, now Liv AlUla Jayco, in 2021. She has already won the national time trial championship four times and this year, she's also enjoying her premiere as the road champion.
In recent weeks, there has been a lot of chatter about Zigart's non-selection for the Olympic Games. The Slovenian accuses the team selector that he chose riders to represent in Paris based on his own preferences instead of picking the best rider(s) available.
