"Paris-Roubaix that is my big goal" - Matej Mohoric hoping to add 'Hell of the North' win to his palmares

After winning Milano-Sanremo earlier this year, Bahrain - Victorious' Matej Mohoric has revealed his big goal for 2023, add Paris-Roubaix to his list of wins.

The 28-year-old Slovenian managed to finish 5th in Roubaix this year, 1'47" down on the eventual winner, Dylan van Baarle. As such Mohoric emerging with a win from the 2023 edition is not out of the question, in fact, he will go into the race as one of the riders to watch, something that doesn't seem to faze him. "This year I was very close to the podium, but I missed the great result. I will be even more determined in the next edition.”

Reflecting on his 2022 campaign including that brilliant win in Milano-Sanremo, Mohoric was taking a positive look. “San Remo had always been my dream. It was also the focal point of my spring program" the Slovenian said.

It wasn't all positive for Mohoric however, something he himself admits. "The next big goal was the 2022 Tour de France, but I had health problems and caught mononucleosis and Covid-19 at the same time," he described. "Now a winter awaits me in which to work hard for 2023. You can't sit still and look too much at what you've done in the past."
