Race director
Christian Prudhomme unveiled Vingegaard's participation earlier today, according to
L'Equipe. "We get a very strong field with the announcement of Jonas Vingegaard, who has never won Paris-Nice. I imagine 2025 is the season where he will reclaim it after Pogacar's victory last year."
Jonas Vingegaard skipped Paris-Nice in 2024 in favor of Tirreno-Adriatico - where he dominated winning both mountain stages. However he has good experience from the Race to the Sun from 2023, where he finished third and was beaten by Tadej Pogacar and David Gaudu. For next season, the Slovenian doesn't seem to be planning to appear for the French stage race as he focuses preparation on Milano-Sanremo and subsequent cobbled classics.
