Oier Lazkano and Alex Aranburu lead Movistar Team for Liege-Bastogne-Liege

The last classic of the spring season and the fourth monument of the year will be held on April 21: Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Whilst, Mathieu van der Poel and Tadej Pogacar start as favourites in one of the most difficult classics to win, Movistar Team will start as underdogs, hoping for better results than in previous high-calibre classics this season.

They will take to Liege a varied team with Davide Formolo, who has a seventh place in the Strade Bianche, the best result of the Spanish team this year in a one-day race of such calibre; Oier Lazkano, winner of the Clásica Jaén and third in the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne; Alex Aranburu, podium in the Gran Premio Castellón and Will Barta, the man who has achieved the most important victory by category level of the race with a stage in the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana.

The line-up is completed by Iván Romeo, Carlos Canal and Jorge Arcas, three domestiques who will be at the service of the team and could try to find a breakaway at the start of the race.

As for the Liege-Bastogne-Liege Femmes, Movistar Team will ride with Olivia Baril, Mareille Meijering, Paula Patiño, Sara Martín, Jelena Eric and Claire Steels.

In neither of the two races do they have great options but they will try to give their best to leave the team in a good place.
