No Alaphilippe, Hirschi, Pidcock, Johannessen... 4 Spanish teams receive the wildcards for Volta a Catalunya in anticipation of Vingegaard-Roglic battle

The organization of the Volta a Catalunya 2025, to be held between March 24 and 30, has announced the 24 teams participating in the race. In 2024 Tadej Pogacar put on a show, and in a couple of months we should see a battle including the likes of Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic.
Taking into account that it is a WorldTour race, so automatically the 18 WorldTeams and the 2 best ProTeams by ranking in 2024 (Israel Premier Tech) and Lotto) must go. The wildcards have been for the 4 Spanish ProTeams: Burgos Burpellet BH, Caja Rural - Seguros RGA, Kern Pharma and Euskaltel Euskadi.
The entire Spanish ProTeam scene will be present at the race, overall a positive situation for the local teams, and this does mean that teams such as Tudor (Of Marc Hirschi and Julian Alaphilippe), Q36.5 (Tom Pidcock), Uno-X (Alexander Kristoff, Tobias Johannessen) and TotalEnergies (Anthony Turgis, Steff Cras).

- Well, one of those years that was less than 4 minutes, which over 86 hours makes less than 0,1% or about 4 seconds per hour. I don’t know about you but when I ride the same bike over the same path on two different days for an hour, I can’t tell if I’m faster or slower unless it’s by a minute, maybe 30 seconds if I really really pay attention, and he was pretty sure about noticing the difference, for me that sounds bigger than 4s/hour.Mistermaumau17-04-2025
