Nico Denz has taken a bunch sprint victory on stage 5 of the 2023 Tour of Turkey ahead of teammate Matthew Walls in a BORA - hansgrohe one-two finish.
Notably in the day's breakaway was Jay Vine. Having fallen out of GC contention, the UAE Team Emirates man had clearly readjusted his focus as he picked up maximum King of the Mountains points throughout the day and moving into the overall lead of the classification.
The break couldn't hold on to contest the stage win however, as with 14km to go they were swallowed up by the bunch. After a fierce battle for position, BORA - hansgrohe held the front into the last corner they made it stick at the line, Nico Denz leading home teammate Matthew Wallsfor a one-two finish.
