Nairo Quintana is looking forward to the 2025 season with Movistar Team. The Colombian veteran is in his tenth season in total with Eusebio Unzué's team and, although he will be looking for individual goals in races such as the Giro d'Italia (he will repeat in 2025 the Corsa Rosa and the Vuelta a España), he is a reference for a very young squad and is playing a mentoring role for the less experienced members of the team.
"Very happy to be here for another year, these are 10 years that we have completed thanks to the support of Movistar, thanks to the support that they have given us, they have given me and, imagine, with some of them I had photos when they were little and today to be next to them,. They have already surpassed me in height, of course, it's incredible, it's incredible, to remember with Nelson [Oliveira] all the battles we have lived and still feeling very well having not age, but experience", explained to Perico Delgado and Monica Marchante the 34-year-old former Giro and Vuelta winner.
About his role as a mentor, he commented the following: "I talk with them, make jokes, get to know them, some of them have many fears due to their age, we have gone through these stages and we try to transmit and accompany them to lose their fears and move forward, to teach them to choose the best way to reach success".
And he ends, after joking about the youngsters, being very ambitious for the 2025 season after a very difficult 2024 in which he could not perform as he would have liked due to falls and illnesses:
"When they fall into some of the mistakes, they start to believe in me more, I try to transmit knowledge and tranquility. I try to transmit knowledge and calmness. The training camp has been wonderful, we want to wear this beautiful jersey on the best stages in the world".
