Enric Mas was the star of the Movistar Team presentation last evening in Madrid and alongside announcing his main goals of the season at the Tour de France and Vuelta a España, he has also revealed much of his calendar and ambitions for the 2025 season.
"It's an extra motivation, apart from that this year Eusebio and everyone have signed a lot of young riders who are doing very well, especially Pablo (Castrillo, ed.) who had a great Vuelta and a great season and hopefully he will help me a little bit."
The Spaniard will return to riding the Tour de France and the Vuelta, assuring that it is what works best for him, thus ruling out riding the Giro for now: "We have tried these years to make changes and it's always the same, always when we touch the month of July I go much better and we have to accept that and go forward. We're going to leave everything as it is, which is fine".
So, without thinking that he might have rivals like Tadej Pogacar next year, Enric is going for it all and after four podiums he only thinks he can wear red on the last day in Madrid in 2025:
"It's clear that the Vuelta is my favorite event and let's hope that once and for all we can finish off what we've been trying to do for a long time. For now we'll have to wait a little longer to race the Giro because this year we'll be doing the same thing."
Mas will be starting his season at the Vuelta a Andalucia and will then race the Faun Drôme and Faun-Ardèche classics where he could aim for wins in the mountainous terrain. Over the spring he will have as big goals the Volta a Catalunya and Itzulia Basque Country, with the Ardennes also being a possibility. He will later race the Tour de France and Vuelta a España in search of more GC success.
