The bad luck of Nacer Bouhanni continues. After falling in a crash just three kilometres from the finish line on stage one of the Region Pays de la Loire Tour, not only did the Frenchman see his chances of a stage win go up in smoke but also his race brought to an end.
According to Bouhanni's Team Arkea Samsic, the 32-year-old has suffered "excoriations of the shoulder, elbow, leg, external face and left thoracic base, a wound in the right elbow with possible passive immobilization and laying of stitches and a hematoma on the front of the right leg."
Kevin Vaquelin and Donavan Grondin who were also heavily involved in the crash have both been classed fit enough to be at the start line for stage two meaning that all hope is not lost for Arkea Samsic as they look to bounce back.
