Gino Mader was not on the finish list of stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse. Reportedly that was due to a terrible crash on the final descent to the line.
Lilian Calmejane took to Twitter. "All my strength and thought for Gino Mader! Please be safe men, come on." Reports on Mader are slim although the Bahrain - Victorious rider has reportedly been taken to hospital in an air ambulance.
Mader was not the only rider to go down hard with Magnus Sheffield reportedly crashing into a ravine. More on both these developing stories as the information is revealed.
UPDATE: The race organization has further detailed the situation in which Mäder found himself. "Gino Mäder lay motionless in the water. He was immediately resuscitated and then transported to Chur hospital by air ambulance. The severity of his injuries has not yet been fully clarified. An update will be given as soon as new information is available. The circumstances of the accident are being clarified."
