Lidl-Trek's overhaul in this transfer window continues with 33-year-old Italian,
Fabio Felline the latest arrival, signing a one-year deal from the
Astana Qazaqstan Team.
Felline had previously ridden for the team under their previous guise of Trek-Segafredo between 2014 and 2019 and his arrival is the latest in a series of signings that have seen the likes of Simone Consonni, Patrick Konrad, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Jonathan Milan and Andrea Bagioli also sign deals and strengthen the squad.
“I feel this return as a homecoming,” Felline told Lidl-Trek's official website. “The bond with this Team, with this group of people, however, has never been broken, especially on a personal level. When the option to return came up, it was a pleasant surprise and I immediately said yes. At this point in my career, the opportunity to come back here was the best thing that could have happened to me.”
“I will bring my wealth of experience to the youngsters. I will try to be a team man, to consolidate the spirit that characterizes this group, also in the light of the many new riders that will come. I feel I can still give a lot in the race to support the leaders, without preventing any opportunity to contribute with results. I am highly motivated to live this season to my full potential," he concludes. “What stimulates me most, what attracts me thinking about this new adventure, is definitely the ambition that Lidl-Trek has. In short, I can’t wait to reconnect with my past and give my best contribution to help the Team grow.”
