Stage 2
Riley Pickrell and Henri Uhlig abandoned during the stage, with the latter being a victim of a late crash.
Stage 3
The stage saw Thomas Silva not take to the start for Astana, one of the rider who has been in the spotlight over the opening two stages of the race. Harm Vanhoucke and Danny van der Tuuk also did not start. Jay Vine was the only non-finisher of the stage, crashing out in the race where he was making a comeback from a separate injury.
Vine's crash also included Josh Kench, Sergi Darder, Léo Bisiaux and Ivo Oliveira - all of which continued the race however.
In the final kilometer of the stage then, disaster struck as
Remco Evenepoel crashed when riding alongside
Jonas Vingegaard, heading for certain stage win. The Belgian's physical injuries could be more specifically understood later on however following the fall he had several patches of blood and road rash throughout his body - bad signs ahead of the race's decisive stages.
Stage 4
There were two DNS at the start of the day with both Ivo Oliveira and Matthew Fox withdrawing overnight.
On the road, in the build up for the final sprint, leadout riders Michael Leonard and Anton Charmig went down in a crash. Around the same time, Derek Gee and Bart Lemmen also hit the deck.
Stage 5
There were two more DNS at the start of the day as both Derek Gee and Noah Hobbs didn't take to the startline. A further six riders then stepped off during the stage itself. These included: Noa Isidore, Sam Bennett, Nico Denz, Mathieu Kockelmann, Alexey Lutsenko and Kieran Haug.
That wasn't the only drama on the day though. In the lead-up to the final climb, a number of notable riders such as
Joao Almeida, Tom Pidcock, Brandon McNulty and
Georg Steinhauser all hit the deck on a wet and slippery descent.
Stage 6
After his terrifying crash into a ravine on stage 5, Tom Pidcock was a DNS at the start of the day. Fellow crash victim Georg Steinhauser did start the day, but didn't finish, abandoning mid-stage.
Five further riders were also DNF by the end of stage 6. Those being Tao Geoghegan Hart, Sergio Chumil, Haoyu Su, Anton Kuzmin and Michel Hessmann.
