Medical Report & Withdrawals 2025 Renewi Tour: Update Stage 5 - 15 more riders abandon race on the final day

As is often the case in a stage race of this intensity, the 2025 Renewi Tour will no doubt see a number of riders forced to abandon due to crashes, illness, and other racing incidents. Keep track of all incidents and withdrawals throughout the race right here!

A crash during the neutral rollout saw British talent Tom Portsmouth abandon very early. Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe's Anton Palzer then also withdrew early on in the day. Late on, a big crash then rocked the peloton, bringing down the likes of Sam Welsford, Marijn van den Berg, Dan McLay and others.

There were 4 DNS overnight as Connor Swift, Mathias Norsgaard, Donavon Grondin and Tobias Foss all left the race. More riders were then caught up in crashes during the day including Abram Stockman, Mathias Vacek, Fred Wright, Mick van Dijke and more.

After the shock news that Ben Turner had been pulled from the race to join INEOS Grenadiers' Vuelta a Espana lineup following a last minute illness in the original selection, no fewer than 20 riders left the race of the course of the day. Among the most notable were the likes of Fabio Jakobsen, Juan Sebastian Molano, Tim Declerq, Bert van Lerberghe, Miles Scotson, Kevin Geniets, Alex Kirsch, Ryan Mullen, Albert Torres and Brent van Moer.

Tudor's Rick Pluimers did not start the stage, whilst the day was rather uneventful outside of it.

Milan Fretin and Adam Toupalik did not start the stage, whilst many abandoned throughout the final day of racing. The following riders did not complete the stage: Gianni Vermeersch, Nolann Mahoudo, Campbell Stewart, Luka Mezgec, Warre Vangheluwe, Sam Welsford, Jonas Geens, Vito Braet, Gerben Kuypers, Lionel Taminiaux, Matevz Govekar, Daniel Skerl and Robert Stannard. Mike Teunissen was also involved in a crash.
