FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope took a strong win today as Marta Cavalli took the biggest win of her career to conquer Amstel Gold Race Ladies with a tremendous performance in the final kilometers.
Th 128-kilometer race featured a route full of explosive climbs where the biggest differences would be made. It's a race that was full-on from start to finish, as with 70 kilometers to go a 10-rider group containing many of the big favourites attacked and made a difference, but there were always interests behind to close every move.

An eventual chase proved successful as the group was reeled in with 40 kilometers to go, the attacks didn't stop but the move put a lot of hurt in the peloton, and eventually the favourites started looking towards the final kilometers which would see an ascent of the Cauberg right before the finish.
Annemiek van Vleuten put on a very high pace which saw a seven-rider group pull off the main peloton. Right after the top as the pace slowed down Marta Cavalli attacked, and it proved to be a decisive attack as she was never again caught.
Team SD Worx put on a chase as they had two riders in the chasing group, but the Italian didn't crack and kept her gap until the finale. Demi Vollering and Lianne Lipper took the remaining podium spots from the chasing group's sprint.
