Two stages and two wins for Mischa Bredewold and Team SD Worx - Protime at the 2025 Itzulia Women. The 24-year-old Dutch star powered to her 15th pro victory in a dramatic finale to stage 2 on Saturday afternoon.
With two big climbs in the first 40 kilometres, it didn't take too long for things to start breaking up. Things ultimately came back together on the flat afterwards however. On the next climb, Julie Van de Velde was the first rider to get a big gap, with the Belgian picking up maximum Queen of the Mountains points atop the Gerekiz and the Arrieta.
Although Van de Velde got the company of Dilyxine Miermont and Mijntje Geurts shortly after, all three had been caught by the peloton heading into the final 10km of the day. The attacking was done yet though, with Silke Smulders attempting a flyer and being joined by both Mareille Meijering and Rosita Reijnhout.
The trio were still clear of the bunch heading into the final 2km as well, but with around 300m to go, they were swallowed up by the sprinters launching their move for the winning line. In that sprint, it was Mischa Bredewold who powered to the win for the second day in a row, ahead of Liane Lippert and Soraya Paladin.
