Stage 16 of the
Vuelta a Espana has been neutralized. After the protests of stage 11 neutralized the finale into Bilbao, now the Castro de Herville summit finish has been blocked by Anti-Israel protestors, making it impossible to continue the race in safely.
"We have a big protest at 3 kilometres before the line. We will decide the stage winner and take times at 8 km before the line," the Vuelta organizers have announced. In the video below it has been possible to see.
The stage winner is
Egan Bernal, who was part of the day's breakaway, after beating Mikel Landa in an uphill sprint to the improvised finish line. In the peloton Bahrain - Victorious put on a chase in the penultimate climb of the day and there was action ongoing, but the news came in as the race was ongoing.
