- This sponsor crap is not as simple as some always would like. The sponsor has very little to say in matters of performance but then again, is free to stop sponsoring when a contract runs out. Anyone involved in sport at any level should understand this better. It’s more like the risks of an investment with hardly any upside except (often only perceived) benefits of being associated with success. - I see both sides of the argument however it is job at the end of the day. The sponsor pays your wages to perform and win at the highest level. If Vin has an issue he should speak to team management. Almost like politician when they have to use a spokesman or woman to reply. The sport has moved on and is probably at the highest level with riders for a decade.
