Lidl-Trek announce Grand Tour leaders for 2024: Tao Geoghegan Hart and Mattias Skjelmose set to lead Tour de France charge

Lidl-Trek have given an early announcement of their plans for the 2024 season. Among the reveals are the team's Grand Tour and Classics leaders for the next year.

At the Giro d'Italia, last year's Maglia Ciclamino winner Jonathan Milan is set to ride his first Grand Tour in the colours of Lidl-Trek following his move from Bahrain - Victorious. The general classification charge at the race will be led by the team's Italian GC hopeful, Giulio Ciccone, with the likes of Jasper Stuyven and Andrea Bagioli also set to travel to Italy.

The Tour de France will see another of the team's new signings get their Grand Tour chance as former Giro d'Italia winner Tao Geoghegan Hart will be part of a two-pronged GC challenge alongside Mattias Skjelmose. Two-time Tour de France stage winner Mads Pedersen will also return to the French leg of the Grand Tour cycle.

Both Skjelmose and Pedersen will also be key cogs in the Vuelta a Espana lineup of Lidl-Trek in 2024. In the Classics meanwhile, Pedersen will once again be the main man, supported by the likes of Jasper Stuyven.

On the women's side of things, Elisa Longo Borghini, Elisa Balsamo, Lizzie Deignan and Gaia Realini will be leading most of the team's hopes with the returning Ellen van Dijk also set to play an important role during the year.
