Kaden Groves temporarily out of competition with light knee injury suffered at Paris-Nice

It was not the ideal start to new season for Alpecin-Deceuninck's second-in-charge sprinter Kaden Groves already, but now things got even worse as the 25-year-old was forced to withdraw from stage 5 of Paris-Nice due to a knee injury.

Groves was diagnosed with prepatellar friction syndrome and will have to take a week off the bike before he can resume training. This means the Australian likely won't start at Volta a Catalunya on March 18. Hopefully the fast man will be fully ready for classics kicking off with Dwars door Vlaanderen in two weeks time.
