After the seventeenth stage of the Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard is very comfortably in yellow. The Dane beat his main rival Tadej Pogacar by more than seven minutes, making his eventual dethroning seem like a nearly impossible task.

"When Pogacar had to let go, that was the time for us to go for it and make the biggest gap possible," said Grischa Niermann in an interview with WielerFlits.

"First of all I want to say that it was a great performance from the whole team. All eight guys rode great," adds Arthur van Dongen. "What strikes me even more is that Jonas was clearly the strongest of the classification riders who started the final climb together."

"This is super nice. We have all seen that Pogacar can fight back well, but today the difference is clear and we can go to Paris with peace of mind, that is nice and that relief is there," said Van Dongen.
