Denmark will not be able to count on its star rider Jonas Vingegaard for the next World Championships, however, that does not mean that their team is weak. They'll bet on someone who already knows what it's like to be a world champion, backed by experienced one-day racers who can be reliable alternatives on a course prone to many tactical variations.
Mads Pedersen will be the axis of the Danes, a logical decision not only because of his good memories from 2019, but also because of the regularity shown recently when he has achieved at least one victory in his last four grand tours, among others. The course suits him wonderfully and he will be one of the great candidates.

On a good day Mattias Skjelmose, Kasper Asgreen, Soren Kragh Andersen or Magnus Cort Nielsen, can all shine on a fast-paced circuit with short punchy climbs. Mikkel Bjerg, Mikkel Honoré and Michael Morkov, will complete the final road race selection.
