Jonas Vingegaard is leading
Jumbo-Visma at Gran Camino where he will make his competitive debut this year. His presence at the race is off to a rocky start however as he was forced to travel across Spain for private issues.
Vingegaard had been in Santiago de Compostela a few days before the start of the race, but according to Wielerflits the Tour de France champion travelled to Malaga in the south of Spain last-minute, quite possibly for family issues - it is said that he and his family spend the winter in the area for better weather and training conditions. This has seen the Dane miss out on the scheduled pre-race press conference. At the time being however his presence in the race is likely assured.
