Jonas Vingegaard is leading Jumbo-Visma at Gran Camino where he will make his competitive debut this year. His presence at the race is off to a rocky start however as he was forced to travel across Spain for private issues.
Vingegaard had been in Santiago de Compostela a few days before the start of the race, but according to Wielerflits the Tour de France champion travelled to Malaga in the south of Spain last-minute, quite possibly for family issues - it is said that he and his family spend the winter in the area for better weather and training conditions. This has seen the Dane miss out on the scheduled pre-race press conference. At the time being however his presence in the race is likely assured.

This Spanish race will be the first of the Danish climbers' season. It will be a tough test with two summit finishes and a final time-trial around Santiago de Compostela. The likes of Rohan Dennis, Steven Kruijswijk and new signing Attila Valter will all be present in a strong lineup that positions the team as main favourites for the overall classification.
Jumbo-Visma for Gran Camiño: Jonas Vingegaard, Rohan Dennis, Lars Boven, Steven Kruijswijk, Attila Valter, Johannes Staune-Mittet and Loe van Belle.
