Jenno Berckmoes has officially extended his contract with
Lotto Dstny, a development that follows
the departure of teammate Maxim Van
Gils. This extension signals a significant step forward for Berckmoes, who is
set to take on a more prominent role within the team.
Speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, Berckmoes shared his thoughts on
the contract renewal and the opportunities ahead:
"That they are breaking open my contract shows
confidence. Kurt Van de Wouwer believes in me and I need that to function well.
After the departure of
Maxim Van Gils I am taking a step forward. With Lennert
Van Eetvelt, Alec Segaert and Arnaud De Lie in the team I will have a serving
role in various races. But there will also be races in which my card will be
drawn."
The puncher has enjoyed a productive winter, which has
further fuelled his ambitions for the upcoming season. Berckmoes is already
preparing for competition and will take part in tonight’s cross race in Diegem.
"In the meantime I have also completed an internship in
Spain and another one will follow in early 2025. In the big races I want to
convert the flashes that I showed earlier into results," he explained
further.
