Stage 2 of the ZLM Tour was another tense day, and Jakub Mareczko has taken full advantage of it to take his first big stage win of the year for Alpecin-Deceuninck.
The stage was this time around more controlled by the peloton, which saw several sprinter teams not allowing a surprise as was the case on stage 1. There were crashes however and Mark Cavendish saw a mistimed mechanical take him out of contention in the final kilometers.
In the final sprint however Alpecin-Deceuninck nailed the leadout, Robbe Ghys performed a perfect leadout which still earned him a third place on the day, he led out Mareczko into victory on the day, who beat Olav Kooij to the line.
